A rumour that started in 2013 has finally come to fruition. That rumour suggested that Suzuki would no longer build and sell the Kizashi sedan. Confirmation of such a move is now at hand. The Kizashi is no more.
The writing has actually been on the wall pretty much from the start. It doesn’t seem like consumers were too keen to associate Suzuki, a brand known better for smaller cars and crossovers, with a big spacious family sedan. Indeed in Mzansi over the past three months (September to November) only one Kizashi has left the showroom floors. Kizashi is actually a really lovely car with almost every great attribute one can expect to find in a family sedan.
At the same time, IN4RIDE understands that the Grand Vitara is also facing the axe. While it generally fares much better than the Kizashi in terms of sales, Suzuki appears to be more interested in going forward with smaller cars like the Swift, Splash and Ertiga, rather than larger models.
