Confirmation that the all-new Audi RS Q3 is on its way has come in the form of these here spy pictures. The car has been doing some intensive testing on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife in order to sharpen its handling skills, among others. It looks like it will be revealed later this year, with Mzansi sales beginning in 2020.

A very aggressive front end is dominated by the new octagonal grille, surrounded by air vents forming a C-shape. The side profile features multi-spoke alloy wheels, low profile tyres, and a slightly slanted roofline. The back end is fairly simple, with those two large oval exhaust tailpipes and a roof spoiler making the look.

Where it matters the most – under the bonnet – the most likely candidate is the prolific 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder turbo engine. Power is currently unknown but will probably get close to the 300kW mark. Of course the quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is part and parcel of the package and will pair up with one of Audi’s trusted automatic transmissions.
