Mercedes-Benz will officially unveil the brand new GLE SUV within the next few days. This is now fact, thanks to these basically uncovered pictures of the car being transported somewhere in Europe by the guys at Auto Review in Russia. Basically nothing has been left to the imagination, bar those headlights and some rear detail. Essentially this is what the car will look like when it lands here in Mzansi sometime in 2019.

Looking like an evolution of its predecessor, the GLE features bits of Mercedes-Benz’s new design language; gone are the hard curves, and in are the smoother, rounded edges with a softer look. The front end features a vertical stance, new headlight designs, while the rear end takes a wraparound rear window design.

In terms of engines and powertrains, Mercedes-Benz is expected to use a 3.0-litre turbo V6 diesel for those who still believe in this technology. Then the new 3.0-litre straight 6 petrol will power several models, including the more powerful plug-in hybrids. At the top end we will see the 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 return for duty to deliver around 450kW in the AMG 63 S model.
