Audi SQ3 1

When Audi releases a new model range over the coming years, it will have a performance model attached to it. This will apply especially to SUVs, just like this upcoming SQ3 that’s expected to hit Mzansi shores in 2019. Current generation Q3 does not come with an S model, only an RS, so this will be a first for Audi.

Aimed at buyers looking for extra pep in their step after buying what many still consider a mama’s car, the SQ3 will definitely raise some eyebrows with its performance. That is believed to be sourced from a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine with just over 200kW of power. It will be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and send all power and torque to all four wheels using the quattro all-wheel-drive system.

As far as looks are concerned the SQ3 seems to carry extra air dams on the lower part of the front grille, with LED headlights shining bright, low profile tyres gripping well and the side profile going almost coupe-like. The new SQ5 has done away with the visible four tailpipes we are accustomed to from an Audi S perspective and instead opted for fake holes. The SQ3 is showing its four pipes but we don’t know if the production model will do the same or not. We hope it will.
