NEW MAZDA CX-30 CONFIRMED FOR MZANSI

What is a little unclear is why Mazda has unveiled a car that will be positioned between the CX-3 and CX-5. After all, that gap is not that big. Nevertheless the new CX-30, shown at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, will do just that.

Not many details have been issued about the car yet, so we will only be able to share what we currently know. And that is, the CX-30 will be launched in Mzansi sometime in about 12 months’ time and will join the CX-3 and CX-5 here. Mazda says it wanted to create a car which comfortably sits four adults, with great visibility and one that is easy to drive.

The other criteria they wanted met was a raised ride height and compliance with the Kodo design language. If you are unfamiliar with the latter then you just need to look at the car’s front grille, side design lines and rear end. It is modern and evocative, without being OTT or offensive.
