The next-generation Ford Focus ST looks almost ready to hit the streets. These spy pics show the car completely undisguised, leading us to believe that pretty soon the company will officially announce its arrival. It is of course based on the all-new Focus hatch range which is set to arrive in Mzansi in 2019. While the ST is an undisputed hot hatch, it is not the top-of-the-range Focus anymore. That mantle has been taken by the RS. But much later about that one.

For now let’s focus…on this ST, which you see here sporting two separated exhaust tailpipes instead, instead of the centrally-located configuration we have seen in the current/ previous model. The front end features a honeycomb grille, xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, and an ST badge. For now the rear end does not carry an ST moniker so we don’t where it will sit. In addition to the aforementioned pipes is a rear boot spoiler. So far speculation is that the car will have a 2.3-litre turbo Ecoboost engine to take it over the 200kW mark for the first time. To make the deal even sweeter, an automatic transmission will be available for the ST for the first time.
