The upcoming 2018 Paris Motor Show (October) will introduce the world to yet another batch of Mercedes-AMG branded cars. Specifically we are told to look out for two new blazing hot hatches in the form of a Mercedes-AMG A 35 and a Mercedes-AMG A 45. Yes we in Mzansi still see the old A 45 AMG running around, but these two are based on the all-new Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

2019 Mercedes-AMG 45 spied in camouflage.

Previous reports on the A 35 suggest that it will be competing mainly against the Audi S3 and BMW M140i, meaning it would carry at least 230kW of power. Whether such power will go through the front or all four wheels is still unknown. We believe 4Matic all-wheel-drive (AWD) will be utilised. The second car is of course the Mercedes-AMG A 45, which becomes the flagship brand for the A-Class range. All indications are it will tip over the 300kW mark, use 4Matic and become the quickest A of all time. More interestingly is a small rumour of an even more powerful version, an A 45 S with about 320kW. Let’s wait in anticipation.
