Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather – the world’s highest-paid hugger – has apparently paid US$4.8 million (around R63 million) for a five-year-old car. Said ride is a 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita which Mr Money posted on his Instagram account as his latest acquisition. While US$4.8 million is a lot of money, it’s really nothing compared to what he’s earned so far this year, which is estimated at RS$300 million (R4 billion).

What Mr Money bought is rare yes, but not very special. Sure only two exist in the world and he has one. Yet the CCXR Trevita is not the latest Koenigsegg out here. Actually, it’s not even the most powerful nor fastest. That title goes to the 1.1mW One:1 and the Regera. Truth be told, the car is merely rare. And powerful. And quick. Classic? Not.

Regardless, it has a lovely 4.8-litre supercharged V8 worth 759kW and 1 080Nm of torque. They say it will dash the 0 – 100km/h in 2.9 seconds and reach a 410km/h top speed. While all this sounds pretty stupid and impressive, what probably got the flashy Mr Money to go for this oldie are three things; the doors open like scissors, the roof can be removed so everybody sees him, and lastly and most importantly, the car is coated with a special carbon fibre that shimmers like diamonds in the light. Perfect for the man.
