GRAEME SMITH AND MASTERCHEF JUDGE TO DRIVE NEW GOLF GTI

The South African National Cricket team Test captain, Graeme Smith and Top Chef Benny Masekwameng have been officially announced as the new Volkswagen Golf GTI brand ambassadors.

Benny, who is the Executive Chef for Tsogo Sun, is one judges of the Masterchef SA show (Season 2) which is co-sponsored by Volkswagen.

“I am excited and honoured to be chosen as an ambassador for Volkswagen South Africa. I am absolutely blown away by the new Golf GTI. It surely projects the image of me and what I aspire to, quality, strength and luxury,” said Benny.

Graeme said he was thrilled to be associated with an awesome brand like Volkswagen. “I have always loved Volkswagen cars, and fortunately they seem to have a car for each stage of one’s life,” added Graeme.

“We are happy to welcome Benny and Graeme to the Volkswagen family. We look forward to working with them. We hope Benny’s profile will add flavour to the seventh generation of the original hot hatch, Golf GTI. Whilst Graeme’s stature as captain of the number one test team in world will ensure that the new GTI maintains the legacy of its predecessors to be the best-selling hot hatch in South Africa,” said Mike Glendinning, Director: Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Group South Africa.
