Porsche appears to be challenging the very definition of a hyper car after unveiling the new Porsche 911 Turbo S. Figures brought by the new stunner are nothing short of breath taking and show just how easily Porsche is able to turn a normal everyday sports car into something that even many race cars would struggle against. The new 911 Turbo S arrives in Mzansi in May. Read and weep.

Power is gathered from a 3.8-litre boxer engine with two VTG turbochargers to the tune of 478kW, while torque is maximised at 800Nm. Of course these are stunning power figures for any car, but where the 911 Turbo S excels is in the delivery. Using its 8-speed PDK auto gearbox and all-wheel-drive (AWD), this hyper car accelerates from standstill to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds! Astounding! Top speed is limited to 330km/h.

Some of the enhanced driving dynamics of the 911 Turbo S include 45mm wider body above the front axle, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear tyres, controlled cooling front air flaps, modified track width and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports chassis that has been lowered by 10mm among others.

Visual upgrades include a new front end, wider air intakes, standard LED Matrix headlights with dark inserts, a pneumatically extendable front spoiler and larger rear wing deliver 15% more downforce, muscular rear wing and rectangular exhaust tailpipes in high-gloss black.

The interior comes with a BOSE Surround Sound system, an integrated Porsche Track Precision App, Sport Chrono package as standard, a 27.7cm infotainment touch screen, 18-way adjustable sports seats with special stitching that pays homage to the original 911 Turbo (930), as well as full leather and carbon trim.
