Isuzu is almost ready to fight back its rivals who have been launching modern, updated bakkies (pickups) over the past few years. The new Isuzu D-MAX has been teased and will be shown for the first time over the coming few weeks. It will launch in Mzansi in 2020. These pics you see here are the car itself, undisguised.

The front end has a new grille with a two double hook blades running across it. LED headlights and daytime running lights have been completely redesigned from what we can see, while the underbelly protective cladding is installed also.

The next bit we see is part of the rear end where two sets of LED rear lights appear, one above the other. They almost protrude to the side in almost 3D fashion. Next to the ones on the left is the name Isuzu D-MAX, ensuring you always know what vehicle this is. We assume the right hand side features the model designation, like LX or the like.

Luckily there’s also a couple snaps showing bits of the interior. Isuzu has clearly gone to town here, with premium materials evident all over the show. We see leather, piano black, light alloy and others. There’s also a glimpse of the infotainment system which we believe will include a touch screen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity among others.

All this of course bodes well for the upcoming all-new Mazda BT-50, which will share most of its underpinnings with the new Isuzu D-MAX.
