BMW is renewing its 3 Series range. Earlier this year we saw the arrival of the 3 Series sedan. In a few months’ time we will see the appearance of the sportier but less practical 4 Series Coupe, as proven by these new spy pictures. While there is currently no official timeline yet, we believe the 4 Series Coupe will arrive in Mzansi in about a year’s time.

The car is very much a coupe, with only two entry doors counted and that long sloping silhouette that extends all the way from the windscreen to the boot virtually. The front end features a new set of LED lights, flanking the mandatory double kidney grille. At the back we see more LED lights as well as an 8 Series type general shape.

Several 3 Series engines will find their way into the 4 Series Coupe, including the 2.0-litre turbo with 195kW, the 3.0-litre making 275kW and of course the 3.0-litre twin turbo that will power the M4 and M4 Competition to the tune of around 350kW and 375kW respectively, with xDrive all-wheel-drive and an 8-speed automatic in the mix. Shall we dare say an M4 GTS/ CSL/ DTM will tip over the 400kW mark?
