Lucky BMW customers in Europe are in for a treat. From next month they will be able to buy the BMW M4 Coupe standard with the Competition package. This means the car will not come fitted with 317kW of power, but with a full 331kW. Previously the Competition package came as an option. The engine remains the same 3.0-litre straight six with twin turbos. Sadly BMW South Africa says our local standard M4 will remain at 317kW. However, one can still buy the Competition package.

Remember too, that this is the last hurrah for this car. The all-new M4 (G21) with xDrive all-wheel-drive (AWD) and about 350kW will become available for sale starting next year. First we expect the 4-door sibling to make its entrance in the form of the M3. This power update will also come with 20-inch M light alloy wheels, an M Sport exhaust system, Active M differential and M seats among others.
