Jaguar will become the third manufacturer in the country to officially sell a full-electric vehicle (EV) when the I-PACE rolls off the showroom floors in early 2019. Already doing some hard testing under Mzansi conditions, the I-PACE is also the brand’s first-ever EV. Despite being months away, Jaguar has saw it fit to release prices for the car. It will not be cheap.

There are three trim levels in the initial product, namely S, SE and HSE. A First Edition model will also be available as a range-topper, and that car will pretty much include every option as standard. And of course, cost the most. Because of this it will only be on sale for a year. To recap on the I-PACE and specs, it comes with a 90kWh battery pack running beneath the floor, with two electric motors running all wheels. Maximum power output is at 294kW and 696Nm of torque, making it the most powerful EV in the country right now. Jaguar reckons it will sprint from standstill to 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds. At the same time a range of 470km is envisaged, also the most of any EV in the country.

Some of the features available on the baseline S model include LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, a rear parking camera and Touch Pro Duo infotainment. The SE gets items like a power tailgate, power fold side mirrors and Adaptive Cruise Control among others. At the top end is the HSE with Matrix LED headlights, cooled/ heated front seats leather sports seats, and others. The First Edition model includes the Activity Key, Active Air Suspension, panoramic sunroof and much more.
