The Volkswagen Group has restructured itself at head office level. A new CEO has been promoted and new business units created. The new man at the head is Herbert Diess and he replaces Matthias Mueller who has only been at the helm for about three years. Diess is currently the Volkswagen brand chief and will now oversee the entire Group portfolio, including VW, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, SEAT and others.

The new business units will be grouped into new areas – Volume, Premium, Super Premium, China, Truck & Bus, Group Development and Research, Group Sales, and Group Production. The men chosen to head up these last three will be Diess, Rupert Stadler and Oliver Blume respectively. You may recognise the last two names. Stadler is the boss of Audi and Blume runs Porsche.
