2019 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 spy 1

It’s that time again when Mercedes-Benz prepares for the launch of its all-new GLE, the large SUV that used to be known as the M-Class. The vehicle is expected on Mzansi roads in 2019 with a range of engines, including a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 fitted to the subject of this article. This of course, is the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and it appears to mean serious business.

Scheduled to launch just a few months after the regular GLE models, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will carry all performance hopes for the brand’s SUV range, because it will be going after the usual suspects, including the BMW X5 M and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo range. While the V8 is a given, there is also talk of a 48V mild hybrid system to boost power and thrust, but for now it will just suffice to mention it in passing.

The GLE will be slightly bigger than the current model and offer more legroom for the passengers, especially the rear ones. The COMAND infotainment system is part of the package and features two large wide screens, satellite navigation and others.
