2019 Land Rover Range Rover SV Coupe 1

Ranger Rover revealed its SV Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show to ogling onlookers. The car is the ultimate luxury sports SUV and as such, will be extremely limited in numbers. In fact, globally, only 999 units will be built for that select special group of customers. Fortunately this is not like Ferrari where the company picks the customers. Anyone with the money can be placed on the order list. Mzansi will be allocated less than 15 units.

The SV Coupe features three entry doors – including the boot lid – making it a rather big coupe. Looks wise it is quite similar to the normal Range Rover, apart from the lack of two doors. One can have it with wheels of sizes between 21 and 23-inch. Frameless windows and a slanting rear roofline add to the mystique of the coupe philosophy.

SVO, the Jaguar Land Rover bespoke division, will be the one responsible for hand building this model. Look at the interior and see that only four passengers will be accommodated. A wide range of veneers and leathers can be chosen by prospective buyers in order to individualise their cars to their own tastes. Four curated duo-tone interior colourways, contrasting light to dark, front to rear, include Orchid/Eclipse, Orchid/Vintage Tan, Brogue/Ebony and Cirrus/Lunar, while four single-tone interior colourways are also available: Ebony, Lunar, Eclipse and Vintage Tan.

This being a Range Rover also means it has all manner of modern car technologies featured, including the InControl Touch Pro Duo dual-screen infotainment system with 25.4cm touch screens, a 23-speaker Meridian sound system, as well as other amenities like 10-way power seats.

Under the bonnet is the trusty 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine which in this instance, produces 410kW of power, sent to all four wheels through the Land Rover Terrain Response 2 4×4 technology and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The quoted 0 – 100km/h sprint time is 5.3 seconds, while top speed is 265km/h.
