BMW has unveiled an updated facelift M4 Coupe which has happened at the same time as the rest of the 4 Series range (Gran Coupe, Coupe and Convertible). The M4 was launched in South Africa in 2014 and has been a great success for the company. This Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) as BMW calls its facelifts, is very subtle as has become the norm with these things. The cars will be in Mzansi by July.

Mainly affected areas include the new full-LED headlights which now come standard in both the Coupe and Convertible. They are also adaptive, making cornering at night a lighter affair so to speak. The front bumper otherwise remains as is. The rear lights are also full-LED and have been subtly redesigned, while the rear bumper as a whole, remains the same.

BMW did not do much work inside the car, but the most obvious change is the new seats which look absolutely awesome. Other minor updates include an updated version of the Navigation system Professional and other ConnectedDrive features.

The engine compartment has not been messed with and therefore still carries the same 3.0-litre straight six twin turbo motor which delivers 317kW of power and 550Nm of torque to the rear wheels through a 7-speed M-DCT transmission. That of course means the 0 – 100km/h time remains at 4.1 seconds (claimed), while top speed is still limited to 250km/h.
