PSA Group, owners of the Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands, report that year-on-year sales have increased by 7.4% in Europe. In terms of actual sales figures, the group sold 1 056 000 units in the region and could be on course to 2 million this year.

Peugeot 2008 facelift 1

Some of the stars of the show include the Peugeot 2008 which moved 99 900 cars, up 16% and the Partner with 62 800. It’s interesting that the Partner, a commercial vehicle, does so well for the French brand. The 208 was expectedly the biggest of the lot with 157 800 cars followed by the brilliant 308 at 119 200.

Citroen C4 Picasso 1

Citroën delivered its best numbers for five years, a total of 414 000 cars, up 7.2%. Drivers of this surge include the C4 Picasso, C4 Cactus and C1. The new C3 is now out in Europe and should boost things even further before the year is over. As for the DS brand, 40 900 cars were shipped out. We like the DS brand and what it does and we believe more of them could be sold if it launched new products regularly and prices were reasonable.
